Australia Day Regatta 2018 - John Jeremy Photos

Once again we owe John Jermy a thank you for permission to post these shots of Margaret Rintoul.

Margaret, reaching in flat water and light air...

Broad Reaching, we love it... That's GT's new Adams 10 in the background...

Now it's a bit harder, to windward with only a No 2...

Ah... running again that's more like it...

Working again with J Morton's Eventide to windward

Being chased around the buoy by Jimmy Hardy's  Nerida... an old rival...

The Crew: Bruce Gould Helm, John Brooks Main, John Moorcroft Genoa, John Saalfeld Genoa, Nina Saafled, Prue Gould, Kaye Brooks, Yeve Moorcroft, and two others...

No2 and full main on the way to the start...

Waiting for the line to be set...

A dry ship till after the racing...

We spend a lot of time waiting...

A start at last....

Australia Day Regatta 2013

A lonely picture... I thought would be a nice lead in to this page as we are still minus a Mizzen ...

A lovely photo, taken in the Pacific Islands when the Tardis family owned the yacht in the sixties.  Here she is fully canvassed with Yankee outside the Staysail, full Main and Mizzen and a Mizzen Staysail (Spinnaker) set between the Mizzen and the Mainsail tacked off the forward coach-house.

Crew: Bruce Helm, Brooksy Main, John Sallfeld Genoa, PK everything else except the drinks...

And importantly the girls are Prue, Nina and Kaye.

Note we are still missing a Mizzen boom... One can but hope...

Australia Day Regatta 2011 - From this regatta, we have contributions from several sources.

A mix of pictures from the regatta, some from John Jeremy and others from my camera or that of John Brooks, for which many thanks.  PK

Margaret motoring around the committee boat prior to the start.
Crew: Bruce Gould Helm, John Brooks Main, John Moorcroft and PK on Geona and foredeck, Prue, Kaye and Yeve on trim and drinks...

A close up of the crew...

And off we go seen here crossing Nigel Stoke's  Fidelis while chasing Hearts Ease...

Margaret, just ahead of Hearts Ease to windward and abaft...

After the ball... the drinks arrive... and the gear is furled...

The winners are grinners (we think)

A decent-sized Gin...

Brooksy, resting after a long squawk on the main...

Hard to separate a man and his Ginger Ale...

Nigel and Fidelis up close...

Fidelis crew "Resting after a hard day on the water"...

SANA, under full canvas, getting ready for the start...

Tenacity RSYS, getting ready for a day's sail...

Cherub RSYS...

Gitana RSYS, holding station as the committee boat.

Anita V SASC, a frendly rival...

Perhaps the 12 Meter VIM...

Another SASC classic competitor...

Jimmy Hardy's Nerida under full canvas...

Nerida making slow going in a light breeze...

Another sparkling day and a good start up the harbour in a southwester

Sprinting away on a broad reach and all the crew below...

Bruce managing it all by himself...

At last, some of the crew are on deck...

No one can resist the camera...

John Moorcroft and Prue Gould are on deck for the photograph...

Note we're still missing a Mizzen Boom...

This year it's a handicap start so there is no competition on the start line and so we're off to a clean start...
Another beautiful day for the regatta with clear skies and a building North Easter coming down the harbour a sailor couldn't ask for more than this...

I'm on the helm, Leon Creamer on the Main, Prue standing by the Mizzen with Leon's wife and the others I can't recall...

I also don't recall why I'm on the helm and not Bruce, possibly he's drinking champagne on the start boat as part of the official committee!

Note that although the Mizzen mast has been reinstated there is still the missing boom, thus no mizzen sail aloft.
